BALL PREP PAGE

A suitable area for the ball should be chosen [the gym or other hall]. Better if decorated.

We recommend the school provide snacks [punch and cookies?] for the students.

Uniforms will be provided for boys and girls who want them. Most girls will need to provide themselves with a ball gown somewhat appropriate to the era. This can be done by altering something you already have, it can be borrowed, rented or purchased inexpensively from a thrift store. Girls should research what the dresses looked like from the library, the web, etc.

An area must be provided [with electricity] for the band to set up.

Time for a ball prep class should be provided [about 2 hours].

Often schools ask for a visit with a period soldier [this can be included].
